NAMM 2010 - Ibanez introduces RGD Series - Heavy Metal Guitars.

For 2010 Ibanez blasts through with a new, heavier rock RG edition, the RGD series. These beasts, including a 7-string model, are actually designed for down-tuning. Every RGD is factory tuned down a whole step for the most lumbering, growling metal. The days of floppy strings are officially over – let a new era of speed, accuracy, and sonic brutality begin!

RGD models emit clear sound down to the lowest note without losing playability and stand out further from the rest with extended 26.5” neck scales, Wizard comfort-play necks and 3-dimensional body cutaways for playing ease. The sharp-shaped RGD body also achieves good balance and easier access to high frets for low-slung players.

RGD2120ZCSM has the fast-play Prestige Wizard neck and double-locking Edge Zero bridge with ZPS/3. And the seven-string RGD2127ZISH features a Prestige Wizard-7 neck and double-locking Edge Zero 7 bridge w/ZPS3. Both models are crafted in Japan.

RGD320MGS and RGD320WH both include VK-DT (Down Tunz) Pickups for faster, easier and truer down-tuning. The Prestige Wizard II necks and double-locking Edge III bridge only add to the sonic arsenal. Rock on!
