Guitar virtuoso Gus G of Firewind who has also done a few stints with Ozzy Osborn make an appearance in Guitar Edge Magazine in their "Style File" section.When running down the names of the world’s best guitarists, Gus G. will usually make the list. And with his unmistakable tone and incredible chops, it’s no wonder anyone can immediately pick out his playing from the rest of the pack.
He grew up in Greece, where he received his initial training in classical guitar. But he also took lots of notes while listening to his favorite guitar heroes, like Tony Iommi, Michael Schenker and Gary Moore. When he moved to the States at the age of 18, Gus didn’t waste any time making a huge name for himself playing in such bands such as Arch Enemy, Dream Evil, Nightrage and Mystic Prophecy.
