Ultimate Metal SRX Basses From Ibanez - NAMM 2009 Release

Already Vicious On The Inside, New Ibanez SRX Models Get A Malevolence Makeover On The Outside

Ibanez SRX basses, designed to be the “bar room brawlers” of the Soundgear family have sometimes had an identity problem. The vastly powerful and simple-to-operate basses were sometimes confused, especially in the natural wood finishes, with their more sophisticated siblings, the regular Soundgear line. Not quite the analogy of a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but you get the idea.

Ibanez decided to make sure there’s no mistake in what these made-for-metal beasts are all about with the new “ultimate metal” SRX model, the 2009 SRX475 5-string. While the new model still has the super-powerful passive PFR-N pickups and easy-to-operate EGB-IIDX 2 band eq, the new abalone body bindings and choice of Titanium Gray or Metallic Black Finishes bring out the black hardware and pickups for the look of malevolence that matches the power of these metal monsters.

The SRX470 4-string and SRX475 5-string model also feature 3pc maple necks, medium frets, a bound rosewood fretboard and the Ibanez Accu-Cast bridge. The SR470 4-string model is also available in Royal Blue, Pearl White, or Metallic Black.
