Children of Bodom Join Black Label Society For NA tour

CRITICALLY LAUDED FINNISH METAL BAND TO JOIN BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, CLUTCH AND MORE AS PART OF MASSIVE CROSS CONTINENT TOUR CHILDREN OF BODOM, the esteemed Finnish Heavy Metal band that features frontman and modern day Guitar Hero Alexi Laiho will join Zakk Wylde on tour this fall for the “Black Label Berzerkus,” a two month-long stint described as “rock n’ roll nights of excess and unique madness.” Headlined by Wylde’s infamous Black Label Society, the extensive North American trek will also feature Clutch and 2Cents. Hand-picked by Wylde himself, CHILDREN OF BODOM and Clutch will share the main support slot. Kicking off on September 21st at Roseland in Portland, OR, the tour will make stops across the U.S. and Canada.

Zakk Wylde, the former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, was looking at other rock festivals and saw the need for a value-priced tour of his own. It was an easy decision, says Wylde, summing it up like only he can, “If you don’t get invited to the party, start your f’ing own!” CHILDREN OF BODOM commented, “COB is more than ready to head out on Berzerkus and see all of our great fans. Expect nothing but a good time, Bodom style!” COB continues to tour in support of Skeletons in the Closet, a full album of cover tunes containing 17 impressive remakes of the group’s all-time favorite songs as well as its critically acclaimed studio album Blooddrunk. The band will enter a Finnish studio later this summer to record its as-yet-untitled new album which is slated for an early 2011 release date.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's enthralling mix of modern heavy metal, melodic hooks and the guitar acrobatics of Alexi Laiho have solidified the critically acclaimed band as one of the most revered metal acts in the world. The group’s latest studio album Blooddrunk skyrocketed to #22 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and scored the quintet a #1 debut in its native Finland.

Laiho was named “Best Metal Guitarist” in the 2008 Guitar World Reader’s Poll and his playing on the band’s 2003 release Hate Crew Deathroll earned the album a place among the magazine’s “50 Greatest Guitar Albums” of all time, alongside records by Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen and Metallica. The unit has been called "technically dazzling" by the New York Times and “One of the most talented metal bands of our time” by contemporary media conglomerate VICE. Clearly, Laiho and CHILDREN OF BODOM are one of the leading voices of metal’s new generation.
