Gibson launches microsite featuring Slash signature guitars and YouTube contest

Gibson Guitar has launched a sleek, user-friendly microsite featuring the ultimate rock guitars created in close cooperation with one of the greatest guitarists of all time—Slash. The site also contains some of the most comprehensive biographical information on Slash found on the web, including the first chapter of his best-selling biography, an overview of his life and music, details on his arsenal of Les Pauls, exclusive interviews, audio clips, tips on how to achieve Slash tone, and much more.

Granting an in-depth look at Slash’s signature Les Pauls from Gibson Custom, Gibson USA, and Epiphone, the site features photo galleries, 360 degree imagery, detailed guitar specs, and complete dealer information. Fans of his work with Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, and guitarists everywhere, will enjoy the guitarist’s tribute to the Les Pauls he has used all along his way to superstardom.

Gibson is also announcing a Slash YouTube Video Contest, giving fans a chance to win a Slash /Inspired By/ Les Paul Standard Vintage Original Spec Custom model. Fans can upload a completely original, Slash-related video on YouTube and then submit it to Gibson through the Slash microsite. Deadline for the contest is April 15; and contestants may submit up to one video per day for the duration of the contest. The best videos will be posted on the Slash microsite; and the general public will vote on the top video. Voters can also get into the action with a chance to win an Epiphone Slash model by voting on the video contest page.

Three very limited and unique models of the Slash signature Les Paul guitar will be released simultaneously around the world on Tuesday, April 1, offering consumers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a guitar inspired by Slash. Each guitar model has been designed and produced in close co-operation with the legendary Velvet Revolver guitarist and will combine individual design features while Slash’s own personal touches create a unique instrument destined to become another instant classic. On April 1, 2008 at 5pm EDT select dealers will offer a limited number of these models for sale. Once they are sold out, they will not be reproduced.
