Most everyone knows about the good old Drop D tuning that is used in metal guitar music. But, there is a deeper darker side to some other tunings you may like to know about. In this video Rock House Instructor John McCarthy explains Drop C tuning and then talks about how to tune your six string guitar to sound like a seven string guitar. He also talks about whole tunings.

I was surprised to see John using a Tele for this type of video.
I have heard that Les Paul Standards can be tuned down quite a bit and still play well.
That is true but I don't think people realize how versatile a Tele actually is.
